Distribution, place of living

  •  Most charactaristic  : Europe and Russia

  •  The most widespread lycosidia in the home woods

  •  In decidous woods they can be foung in large numbers, they mostly prefer the dead  mould suitable  for hiding

  • Avoid open, dry or very wet places of living  

 

Morfology and physiology

  • Length of female : 4.5 mm

  • Length of male: 4.9 mm

  • The males posses more characteristic morfological characteristic than the females : their cephalotorax is black with a thick, silvergray stripe lengthwise.Their abdomen is completely silvergray with smaller lighter patches. Their legs are very long with reddish-brown shade.. Chelicereas are very characteristic: from reddish yellow to black reaching the tips.

Characteristisc:

  • Nourishment:  Small insects, inverterbatesor even other spiders. They have very good eyesight.

  • Behavior: Non aggressiv breed.  Bite if feeling threatened. Their poisin is not lethal for human, but very painful. In case of biting you should consult a doctor, siche poison can lead to death.
